What is Medical Massage Therapy?
Getting Started!
Medical Massage is result-oriented treatment specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a Physician. The therapist may use a variety of massage therapies, massage cupping, procedures and treatments during the sessions. The focus of the Medical Massage treatment will be only on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription. The prescription will cover injuries related to automobile accidents and work site injuries, including recovery from surgical procedures due to your injury.
Patients need only to get a prescription from their Medical Provider stating the nature of their injury, the number of visits per week and the length of therapy.  For example: treatment to the Lumbar (low back) area, 2-3 times a week, for 4-6 weeks duration.  Patient will need to provide the Claim Number from the Auto Accident Insurance or Worker's Compensation Insurance and the name and contact information of the adjuster for their claim. Authorization from the insurance company must be provided before treatment can begin.
